Sports Nutrition
A healthy and well-balanced nutrition plan, combined with a structured training program, is the foundation for developing optimal health and achieving peak performance in sport.
As an athlete, whether at the middle school, high school, collegiate, recreational, masters or professional level, you have specific nutrition needs. These needs will vary depending on age, gender, sport, current fitness level, body size and composition, and current training regimen.
Athletes are training harder and harder - but they are not maximizing their potential. Training and conditioning is only a piece of the sport performance puzzle. Nutrition is often the missing link for achieving optimal health and performance.
By understanding WHAT you need to eat and WHEN you need to eat, athletes can:
- Reach individual weight loss/gain goals
- Recover faster from training sessions and competitions
- Improve reaction time and alertness
- Develop muscular strength and power
- Increase speed and cardiorespiratory conditioning
