The API coaching staff has over 40 years of experience in sports performance training with many of the same credentials required by collegiate athletic programs and professional sports organizations including a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science and the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) - the "Gold Standard" in the sports performance training industry.

Stephen Vaught, President

Stephen earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Virginia Tech where he served as a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Stephen has over 15 years experience working with athletes of all ages and sports. Stephen is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise and a Certified Golf Fitness Instructor through the Titleist Performance Institute. Before founding API, Stephen served as the Fitness Director and Personal Training Coordinator at the Skyline Sport & Health Club (Falls Church, VA) and the Annapolis Athletic Club (Annapolis, MD). Ben Jenkins, Sports Performance Director

Ben earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology from West Liberty University where he was a four year starter on their NCAA II football program. Ben has over 10 years experience working with athletes of all ages and sports. Ben is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and is a Functional Movement Screen Certified Expert. Before joining the API team, Ben worked as an exercise physiologist at Mason Rehab Physical Therapy (Wheeling, WV) and as the Fitness Director and Personal Training Coordinator at the Annapolis Athletic Club (Annapolis, MD). Philippe DeRosier, Sports Performance Coach

Philippe received his Bachelor's Degree of Science in Human Performance and Wellness from St. Augustine's University in Raleigh, NC. Philippe, served as the captain of the NCAA Division 2 National Track and Field Championships. While competing at St. Augustine's, he won four individual titles and was a ten time All American. After graduating Cum lade Philippe became a professional track and field athlete where he holds national and world wide rankings. Since 2011, he has obtained his USATF Level 1 and Level 2 Certification in Sprints, Hurdles, and Relays. Philippe has trained and mentored many Maryland State Champions and All - Americans. Kristin Nabor, Sports Performance Coach

Kristin earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Fitness and Wellness Leadership with a minor in Nutrition and Business from State University of New York Plattsburgh where she was a Strength and Conditioning Coach for their Women’s Softball and Women’s Volleyball teams. As an athlete, Kristin played four years of NCAA Softball and along with her team won their SUNYAC Conference Championships, Regional Championships and made an appearance to DIII College World Series in 2012. Kristin is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, a Certified USA Weightlifting Level 1 Sports Performance Coach and a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine and the Aerobics & Fitness Association of America. She is also currently working towards receiving her Master’s in Exercise Science Strength and Conditioning from George Washington University. Email Kristin

Bernard Williams, Sports Performance Coach

Bernard earned his Associate's Degree in Sports Management from Barton County Community College, as well as his Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from the University of Florida. As an athlete, Bernard is an Olympic gold medalist for the 4x100m relay in 2000, an Olympic silver medalist in the 200m in 2004, World Champion in the 4x100m relay in 2003, World Championships silver medalist for the 100m in 2001, as well as NCAA Champion in the 100m and 4x100m relay in 2000. As a coach, Bernard has trained district champions in the 100m and Junior Olympic National Competitors, as well as hosting track and field camps in the state of Florida. Email Bernard
