The Sports Performance staff at API is made up of experienced, qualified, and upbeat coaches that seek to provide athletes with the best optimal training experience they can get! Our coaches are skilled with diverse sports performance backgrounds and have training experience with athletes of all ages and sports. Each coach understands the value of our "Train 2 Win" Philosophy, and embodies that within their approach to working with our athletes!

Danny Locklear Danny Locklear, Director of Sports Performance and Coach

Danny Locklear earned his Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science from Frostburg State University and his Master's Degree in Exercise Science & Coaching from Concordia University Irvine. Danny is passionate about improvement in sports performance and in people. Using his background in strength training, Coach Danny works with his athletes and clients to create a "journey-based" approach to improving their athletic performance and reaching their fitness goals. Coach Danny is a Certified Performance Specialist through EXOS, a certified Sports Performance Coach through USAW, and is certified in Olympic Weightlifting through the USA Weightlifting Association. Email Danny

Jessica FrancoJessica Franco, Assistant Sports Performance Coach

Jessica Franco earned her bachelor's degree in Biology from Eastern Nazarene College. There, Jessica was co-captain of the Women’s Basketball Team and also a member of the cross country team. In high school sh,e played on the varsity basketball, volleyball, and softball teams. She enjoys playing basketball recreationally and is an avid runner. Jessica is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), certified kettlebell instructor through Strong First, certified in Olympic Weightlifting through the USA Weightlifting Association, and is also CPR/AED certified. Jessica strives to make her athletes feel strong in their performance, confident in their movements, and elite within their sport.

Jessica Franco Nick Gallagher, Assistant Sports Performance Coach

 Nick Gallagher earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Coaching from Frostburg State University. While attending FSU he played lacrosse where he was a “two-way middie” playing offense and defense. As a coach, Nick’s goals are to ensure that athletes are confident and believe in themselves both in and outside of the weight room. Coach Nick wants to help athletes get better, and faster, and achieve their ultimate goals.
