Kacy JenkinsKacy Jenkins – 8U

Kacy Jenkins was born and raised in Maryland and played baseball all of his life. During his years at Howard High School he was two-time All Howard County 1st Team and a Captain of the Team in 1997. A four-year starter at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel College) he was among career leaders in doubles, homeruns, at bats, RBIs, and games played. He was the 2001 WMC Offensive Player of the Year, the Team MVP, and two time All Centennial Conference. He spent over a decade teaching at Howard County’s Rich Jenkins Baseball School. Most recently, Kacy was a Head Coach of 8U Coach Pitch for GORC.

Clint JonesClint Jones – 9U

Clint Jones has over 20 years of experience coaching travel-level baseball, working with the 8U up to 19U age groups. He played baseball all four years of high school.



Stephen VaughtStephen Vaught – 10U

Stephen Vaught is the Founder and President of Athletic Performance Inc which opened its doors in 2004. He has over 20 years of experience coaching athletes of all ages and sports including at the Division 1 Collegiate level while at Virginia Tech. Stephen has been a Head Coach with API Baseball for six years with the 8U-13U age groups. In addition to coaching travel baseball, Stephen has been a Head Coach with Severna Park Green Hornets football for seven years.

Tony BlairTony Blair – 11U

Tony Blair attended and played baseball at Palo Verde High School in Blythe, CA where he was a four-year varsity player/starter for baseball and football. Blair then went on to play baseball for Arizona Western for two years before joining the Marine Corps. Blair has over 7 years of coaching experience. This will be his third season coaching for API Baseball Academy.


Patrick BoucherPatrick Boucher – 12U Blue

Pat Boucher attended and played baseball for Severna Park High School and American Legion Post 175. He held the Maryland state home run record in High School and made it to Rapid City, South Dakota to play in the American Legion World Series. Boucher went on to earn a Scholarship and Pitch at Charleston Southern University, and eventually Indiana University. In college, he played in the Cape Cod Summer League for the Harwich Mariners and went on to win the League Championship with the Brewster White Caps. He played a year of professional baseball for the Richmond Roosters, winning the Frontier League Championship.  After his playing days were over, Boucher continued to coach. He ran a baseball/softball training center where he was professionally trained to instruct the skills of the game in the cage and on the field. This is his third year coaching for API Baseball Academy.

Derek HamiltonDerek Hamilton – 13U Red

Coach Derek Hamilton is a native of Lexington, Kentucky where he began his baseball career in Dixie and Babe Ruth baseball. Having a love for sports, he continued his sports career at LaFayette High  School. After graduating from high school, he took his talents to Coahoma Jr. College in Clarksdale, MS. as a versatile utility player. Coach Hamilton was utilized mainly as a middle infielder, but also pitched and played outfield. During his sophomore season, Coach Hamilton was named to the Southern Jr. College All State Conference Team. He led Kentucky, Tennessee, and Mississippi in batting with a .515 average. After graduating from Coahoma Jr. College, Coach Hamilton transferred to Stillman College (Div-II) in Tuscaloosa, Ala. were he helped lead the Stillman Tigers to a 39-4 record and played in the 1980 NCAA Div-II Playoffs in Lynchburg, VA. Coach Hamilton has coached in the Dixie 7-9 age group as well as the Babe Ruth 13-15 age group. His other coaching experience includes the 7-8 age group at SYMO (Southern MD) and the 9-10 age group with P.G. Select. This is Coach Hamilton’s third year coaching with API Baseball Academy.

John HallJohn Hall – 13U Blue

John Hall grew up in Prince George’s County. He was a member of the Bladensburg Boys and Girls Club during his formative years and played Babe Ruth Baseball with the PG Dragons through junior high school. He played baseball at Riverdale Baptist School and thereafter at Prince George’s Community College. After receiving his degree at the University of Maryland he went on to graduate law school and serve Prince Georges County as a prosecutor in narcotics. Coach Hall has been coaching for over 15 years, serving as the head coach/manager with the KIYBSC Baseball program, Peninsula Bucs Travel Baseball School, and API for the last three seasons. Coach Hall brings 49 years of playing and coaching baseball to API.

Taylor BloomTaylor Bloom – 14U Blue

Taylor Bloom’s playing experience includes high school, collegiate (UMD), the Washington Wild Things (Frontier Professional Baseball League), and the Bloomfield-Birmingham Beavers (United Shores Professional Baseball League). At the University of Maryland, Bloom earned a spot on the Los Angeles Regional All-Tournament Team (2015) and the 2016 Third Team All-Big Ten. He attended and played for Riverdale Baptist High School where he made Second Team All-Atlantic Honors (Perfect Game USA) and Second Team Washington Post All-Met (2014), was rated among the top 500 players of his age group (Perfect Game USA), and earned the Prince George’s Gazette Player of the Year (2012 & 2014).

Tayler StilesTayler Stiles – 15U

Tayler Stiles attended and played baseball for Bishop McNamara High School. His high school accolades include 2013 1st Team All-Met Selection, 2013 Capital Gazette Player of the Year, 2013 Team Maryland Selection (MVP Pitcher), 2013 Brooks Robinson All Star (Most Outstanding Pitcher), and 2013 MD Crabfest All Star. Stiles attended and played for the University of Maryland. His team won three NCAA Regionals, two NCAA regional championships, and two NCAA Super Regionals. He hold 12 career wins and a 3:1 K:BB ratio with 127 K’s to just 42 BB’s in 154 innings. Stiles has over five years of coaching experience, including two years with API Baseball Academy.

Joe PalumboJoe Palumbo – 16U

Coach Palumbo is a 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland, where he started over 150 games in his collegiate career for the Terrapins as a utility player and was selected to the All-ACC Academic Team in both 2007 and 2008. For the past seven years he has been the head varsity baseball coach at Archbishop Spalding High School in Severn.  During his current tenure, he led the Spalding program to 3 consecutive MIAA “A” conference championships and #1 rankings in The Baltimore Sun in 2014, 2015, and 2016, as well as back to back Top 50 National rankings in USA Today in 2015 and 2016. He was named the 2014 Baseball Coach of the Year by The Baltimore Sun, the Anne Arundel County Capital-Gazette, and Varsity Sports Network. In 2016, he was awarded the 2016 Anne Arundel County Capital- Gazette Coach of the Year award for all sports. Coach Palumbo has coached over 25 players that have moved on to play collegiately and has coached two players selected in the Major League Baseball draft. Coach Palumbo has been a member of the API baseball coaching staff for 4 years, coaching 16 and 17u teams, while also running infield and hitting clinics during the off-season.

Matt SelmerMatt Selmer – 17U

For the past 10 years, Matt Selmer has coached several of the most top-level teams in the state. He has spent the last nine years as a full-time baseball instructor, providing private lessons and helping scores of athletes reach the college ranks from Junior College to Division I levels. Prior to joining the API Baseball Academy, Selmer coached at Riverdale Baptist School for eight years. He has directed and coached API Baseball Academy since its founding. Selmer has led his teams to several championship titles, including the 2016 AAU National Championships (14U Elite Blue). Selmer is currently the Head Coach for Varsity Baseball at Indian Creek.

Kevin Rotondo - 12U RedKevin Rotondo - 12U Red

Kevin Rotondo grew up playing baseball with Havenwood Little League. In high school, he became a multi-sport athlete as he began playing lacrosse. Rotondo has coached have coached baseball for over 7 years for the t-ball through 11U age groups.
