  • Sports Performance Internship Program

The API Sports Performance Internship program is an opportunity for those seeking a career path in working with athletes through strength and conditioning. This program will be for 8 weeks starting June 13th - August 5th. Led by Director of Sports Performance, Danny Locklear, interns will receive hands-on training and experience educational segments devoted to highlighting the career of a sports performance coach. Interns are expected to be at the API facility at least 6.25 hours a week, and end the program with a total of 50 hours worked at the API facility.

Interns in this program will learn about:

  • Program Design for the Youth Athlete
  • Speed & Agility Program Design
  • Exercise Selection and Drill Design
  • Energy System Development
  • Program Progressions and Regressions
  • Foundations of Coaching Communication
  • Athletic Skill Evaluation and Assessment
  • Applicants should meet the following requirements:

    • Hold or be in pursuit of a bachelor's degree within the Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or Athletic Training fields.
    • Hold an up-to-date CPR/First Aid certification.
    • Weekday and Weekend availability

    • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field
    • Minimum of 2 years coaching experience

    Certification Requirements:

    • Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) - The National Strength and Conditioning Association (must have within six months of hire)

    • Operations Staff/Customer Service Representative

    This part-time position (15-25 hours) is responsible for assisting full-time management in day-to-day operations and customer service, including developing and overseeing sports activities and event management during weeknights and weekends. The primary functions of this position include: providing excellent customer service to patrons, managing the facility schedule, recording client payments in system, and managing court & room rentals, concessions and daily maintenance routines.

    ASKA Summer Camp Coach

    All-Sport Kids Academy at API is looking to hire part-time Summer Camp Coaches to work with kids aged 3 to 14. ASKA Summer Camp Coaches are responsible for coaching sports to children in day-long Summer Camps. ASKA offers 11 weeks of summer camp between June and September.


    • Prior experience working with children aged 3 and older
    • Ability to manage a multi-task environment
