SOFTBALL LESSONS

API and Starz Gold have partnered to create a unique travel softball program with Total Player Development as the foundation of the program. The Starz Gold Softball Coaching Staff is made up of former collegiate players and includes dedicated pitching, hitting, and slapping coaches as well as a college recruiting coordinator.

Private lessons are an excellent way to improve specific areas of your game, get more reps, and achieve a higher level of skills and sports performance. API private lessons are 100% customized to the individual athlete to achieve accelerated development. MEET THE COACHES

Coach Meredith McAlister

McAlister has founded and led both the Starz Gold API programs and the TNT Maryland programs since 2018 and brings over 20 years of experience. Former Coach at West Chester University and F&M College. And Former Head softball coach at Severna Park High School from March 2005 to February 2023. In her 15 years with Severna Park, she helped guide her charges to a pair of State Championship appearances, four East Region, and seven County Championships. The Capital Gazette and Washington Post recognized her as Coach of the Year throughout her tenure at the helm. She earned multiple All County, Washington Post and Baltiore Sun All Met honors and was named Athlete of the Year for the Capital Gazette and Severna Park High School. She was was inducted in 2016 into the SPHS Hall of Fame.

A former two-sport Division I athlete at Long Island University, she was a part of Northeast Conference Championship teams in both soccer and softball, and qualified for the Women’s College World Series in both sports as well.

Coach Sally Trent 

Sally is a Junior at College of Charleston where they were CAA Champions and played in the Athens Regional of the Women's college World Series.

Before College, Sally was a standout at Severna Park High School, Regional Champion, competing for a State Championship in 2022. She was a first team all-county selection three times and also earned spots on All-Metro Washington Post and Baltimore Sun teams. Sally batted .608 with five home runs and 34 RBI her senior season and posted an average of .525 with eight homers and 34 RBI as a sophomore. Sally is available for Catching, Infield, and Hitting lessons while she is home in the Summer and Winter. She also helps with our Camps and Clinics over break as well.

Coach Teresa Fister

Teresa Fister brings over 15 years of coaching experience and is the former assistant pitching coach at George Washington University. In four seasons at GW, she’s coached two A10 Pitchers of the Year (2022, 2025) and helped set program records in shutouts (14) and strikeouts (322) in 2025. This season, GW led the A10 in strikeouts and ranked top 20 nationally in shutouts and strikeout-to-walk ratio. Previously, she was head coach at Division III Greensboro College, where her 2021 staff posted the second-lowest ERA (2.31) and most strikeouts (188) in the USA South Athletic Conference. A former pitcher and four-year letter winner at Appalachian State, she holds a degree in Physical Education (K–12) and has extensive experience instructing lessons, camps, and clinics.
